Many thanks to Philip Johnson for organizing a great bunch of talented photographers to the Hill End Redbubble Rumble, June 2014. A great time was had by all & hopefully we got some great photos. The sun was pretty intense when I took this shot, so I evened it out with HDR Photomatix processing. Photographed with a Canon 400D at Hill End, Central Western NSW, Australia. St Paul's Catholic Church at Hill End photographed at the Redbubble Rumble, June 2014. I love the old rustic fence around this building. In 1851, alluvial gold was first found in the Hill End goldfields. The population of Hill End exploded following these early discoveries and, by the second rush in 1872, it was the largest inland settlement in the NSW colony. One of the most remarkable things about Hill End now is the virtual lack of development since the gold rush with almost all of the buildings dating back to the boom years around 1872 and it is this unique collection of buildings, relics, artefacts, structures, archaeological sites and landscape elements which are, individually and collectively, of outstanding architectural, ...

A highlight of the June long weekend at the Redbubble Rumble at Hill End 2014 was a sunrise shoot at Kissing Point.
