Description: This Mimeographic History design is a play on the "Enjoy AZT" design by Vincent Gagliostro and Avram Finkelstein, 1989 (https://collection.cooperhewitt.org/objects/18645575/) AZT was criticized for being cost-prohibitive, toxic, and ineffective. This design drew attention to Burroughs Wellcome profiting off of AZT as a product while people died. Modern drugs for PrEP including Truvada and Descovy can protect people from contracting HIV which is amazing, but Gillead Sciences has maintained a monopoly on the drug, profiting massively while limiting access and availability of the life-saving medication. Profits from sales help us keep making the podcast Totally Trans. A portion will be donated back to community causes.
