Iris Flower blooming in the Spring

This floral design lends itself to the products on Redbubble perfectly. Irises are probably my favourite flower and although not my usual subject, I couldn't resist sketching this beautiful specimen from my garden. It is a variety called 'Going My Way' and features large banded blooms - stunning!

Fadedwins

This amazing Parrot Tulip appeared in my garden this year so, yesterday, I sat in the glorious hot sunshine and painted it in watercolour, my favourite medium. Beer in one hand, paintbrush in the other. Heaven.

I have not been painting much this Summer as work on my garden seems to have taken over. I have been taking hundreds of photos of new plants and kept a record of the work so I can produce an illustrated watercolour journal of our efforts. This is one of my initial sketches.
