According to the IWW: The Black Cat -- traditionally drawn as angry with claws bared, arched back, and a brushy tail (pictured, right) -- has long been one of the symbols of the IWW. It was probably conceived by IWW member Ralph Chaplin (most famous for penning the IWW / labor anthem "Solidarity Forever"), who produced many of the IWW's early "slient agitator" graphics which -- themselves -- had a close association with hobo signs. We like to combine anarchist symbols and quotes with the visual art of anarchists like William Morris. Our goal is to create beautiful and accessible ways to approach the philosophy of Mutual Aid.

You're not just on strike when you're down at the picket, it's a battle you're fighting all day, so why only be visible in the fight when you're out there? Let people know that you are fighting for all of us all day long, every day of the strike, and you a re proud of what you are doing.

Pay workers a living wage

Workers need to know that if they go on strike, which they ought to, that they'll have support both amongst their coworkers and more broadly. Wear this shirt to let everyone know where you stand.

Wage labor is theft. This design was originally based on a political cartoon titled "Organize and Take The Big Bag!" drawn by Jon Lynch, and appeared in the Industrial Pioneer, a publication of the IWW, in June 1925.
