Description: Another in the series of pop art, Warhol inspired pieces. This time, Grackles! Included are the 7 species of the genus Quiscalus (including a couple subspecies!) Top Row (L to R): Boat-tailed Grackle, Common Grackle (Florida), Greater Antillean Grackle. Middle Row (L to R): Nicaraguan Grackle, Common Grackle (Purple), Great-tailed Grackle. Bottom Row (L to R): Carib Grackle, Common Grackle (Bronze), Slender-billed Grackle (Now Extinct)
Description: "Grackle In the Morning Sunlight" I heard this female Great-tailed Grackle arriving before I saw her. When I turned, she had landed very close and was lit beautifully by the morning sun. Description: This is my acrylic painting of a male great-tailed grackle or Mexican grackle perched in a tree looking over his territory. It has piercing yellow eyes, long legs, very long V-shaped tail and stout bill. Look for the shimmer of the glossy iridescent colors on the feathers, which I have painted with a pearlescent paint to give more shine. They are known for being intelligent, social, and problem-solving birds.
