Description: Akuma wears a symbol on his back, this symbol comes from the Japanese kanji meaning, 'ten'. The symbol itself comes from the Chinese language, and it was later adapted by the Japanese. It means several things as Japanese words often do, including: 'day', 'sky', 'heaven', 'beyond human', 'invincible', 'more than man' and 'ten'. It is synonymous with 'Immortal'. It basically means what Capcom has always conveyed, that Akuma is no longer human. In folklore, whenever the character 'ten' appears on a person's forehead, it means that that person is immortal. Capcom, for clarities sake, placed the symbol on the back of his gai.
Description: "Cao Wei" (曹魏) was one of the three major states that competed for supremacy over China in the Three Kingdoms period, based in the northern part of China. Established by Cao Pi in 220, based upon the foundations laid by his father, Cao Cao, towards the end of the Eastern Han dynasty. Below the kanji is drawings of Cao Cao (曹操, center), Dian Wei (典韋, right) and Xu Chu (許褚, left).
Description: Hanzo “半蔵”, Hattori Hanzo “服部半蔵”, also known as Hattori Masanari or Hattori Masashige, Hanzo was a famous samurai of the Sengoku era, credited with saving the life of Tokugawa Ieyasu and then helping him to become the ruler of united Japan. Due to the amount of Iga ninja under his lead, Hanzo has been regarded as one of the most representative figures of the ninja by later generation and pop culture. Shadow of Iga “伊賀の影”, was refers to his position as the leader of Iga ninja. In the background is kamon of Hattori clan “Kuruma ni Yahazu”.
Description: "SHU" (蜀) or Shu Han (蜀漢) was one of the three major states that competed for supremacy over China in the Three Kingdoms period, based in the area around present-day Sichuan and Chongqing which was historically known as "Shu", founded by Liu Bei, who claimed himself as the descendants of the Han Dynasty, and thus named his state "Han" as he considered it the legitimate successor to the Han dynasty. The Three Kingdoms (220 - 280 AD) was the tripartite division of China between the states of Wei, Shu, and Wu.

The banner quoted four phrases from Sun Tzu’s The Art of War: “as swift as wind (其疾如風), as gentle as forest (其徐如林), as fierce as fire (侵略如火), as unshakable as mountain (不動如山)”
