Khonsu is the ancient Egyptian moon god. The name "Khonsu", literally means "the explorer". In ancient Egyptian art, Khonsu is usually depicted as a mummy, as well as a menat necklace with grooves and whips. He is also sometimes depicted wearing the head of an eagle or falcon like Horus.
