One evening while walking around Old Federal Park at Lake Lanier this branch had made its way onto the shore. From a distance it almost looked like a large snake with its head up in the air. As I moved closer I saw it wasn't a snake and decided to take this sunset shot.

Old Federal Park is a public park located on the eastern shore of Lake Lanier in northern Georgia, USA. The park has a rich history that dates back to the 1950s when the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers began constructing a series of dams along the Chattahoochee River to create hydroelectric power and prevent flooding. Lake Lanier was formed in 1956 as a result of the Buford Dam project, and Old Federal Park was one of the first recreational areas to be developed on its shores. Originally known as Old Federal Recreation Area, the park was designed to provide visitors with access to the lake for swimming, boating, and other outdoor activities.
