Can you see The Phantom and The Mummy? This image was created by artist Luis Diaz combining two classic images into one new one.

If you feel that classic monsters and tiki art are on the same plane of retro cool like I do, then you might enjoy this. On this version (see the others in my shop) I substituted the Mummy for Creature and went with a tinted grayscale tone to give the original U- Monsters a 1930s vintage Hawaiian postcard look.

Lon Chaney's horrific, self-applied makeup was kept secret right up until the film's premiere. Not a single photograph of Chaney as The Phantom was published in a newspaper or magazine or seen anywhere before the film opened in theaters.
