Description: An empty train, deep underground. The promise of movement and travel and freedom, the promise of the city that lies above. The scene is evocative of times past, of an idealised Americana, of a world that is large and spacious, solid and reassuring. There is an eerie light in the carriage, a sensation of darkness and mystery outside. The carriage sides are green, tinged with blue, perhaps turquoise, the seats darker. The floor is a carpet of autumn hues, red and brown, with slithers of neon light above. The work is both striking and unusual, a wonderful piece of American art to add to any collection, a great souvenir of New York.

Description: This is the third of three images submitted to the Pasadena Art Gallery Association for their 'Contemporary Masters, Artistic Eden IV' exhibit at the Pasadena Museum of History. The exhibit will run from October 1 through January 11, 2015. This image, which is a composite of 15 two second exposures, was taken at the Del Mar MetroLink station in April, 2014. This image is the one that wasn't accepted. :-( But I like it anyway.
