A beautiful calm evening in Kirkwall, allowing the crew of Spirit Dancer to enjoy the reflections on the still water. The Spirit Dancer, a 42 foot Canadian canoe, is visiting Orkney as part of a journey round the British Isles. On route to Milford Sound there is a deep valley which is almost totally protected from the wind and 3 small lakes there reflect the scenery as in a mirror. In fact, in a couple of them one can only see the view up-side-down in the lakes as vegetation prevents the viewer seeing the actual landscape on the other side of the lakes. South Island of New Zealand. Canon EOS, zoom lens.
