Description: Rigor Mortis, a pioneering American thrash metal band from Texas, formed in 1983 in the DFW area. Known for their relentless, heavy sound that flirted with death metal, the band shaped Texas's underground metal scene and gained national recognition. They signed a major label deal, releasing their self-titled debut album in 1988, followed by an EP in 1989 and a second LP in 1991. After disbanding in 1991, Rigor Mortis reunited in 2014 to create a crowdfunded final album hailed as their masterpiece, cementing their legacy as one of Texas's most iconic metal bands.
