The movie takes place during a live punk-rock New Year’s Eve TV program where the presenter gets a phone call from a psycho calling himself “Evil,” and saying that when New Year’s strikes in each US time zone, he will murder someone in Los Angeles until he makes his way to the televised party. Despite poor reviews for its acting and plot, New Year's Evil has gained a cult following for its '80s atmosphere and unique premise.
