Polonium Tapestries
Description: Celebrate the brilliance of the pioneer of radioactivity with this artistic portrait, as seen in "marie currie.png". This design beautifully captures Marie Curie’s legacy, featuring iconic elements like laboratory glassware, atomic structures, the Radium element symbol, and her Nobel Prize connection. It includes her inspiring, timeless quote: "Be less curious about people and more curious about ideas." This design is perfect for scientists, students, women in STEM, and history enthusiasts who appreciate a blend of vintage aesthetic and scientific dedication.
Description: A black background with white text and symbols arranged in a style resembling the periodic table of elements. It displays the elements 'Po', 'P', 'CO', 'Rr', and 'N', with their corresponding atomic numbers and names below: 'Polonium', 'Phosphorus', 'Phosphorus', 'Cobalto', and 'Radon'. Numbers 1500, 1000, 247, and 127 are also visible.
Description: A stark black background with four white rectangular boxes arranged horizontally. Each box represents an element from the periodic table. The first box shows 'Po' with '209' and '84'. The second shows 'P' with '30.97' and '15'. The third shows 'Co' with '58.93' and '27'. The fourth shows 'Rn' with '222' and '86'. Below each symbol is the element's name: Polonium, Phosphorus, Cobalt, and Radon.
Description: Born in Warsaw, in what was then the Kingdom of Poland, part of the Russian Empire. She studied at Warsaw's clandestine Flying University and began her practical scientific training in Warsaw. In 1891, aged 24, she followed her older sister Bronisława to study in Paris, where she earned her higher degrees and conducted her subsequent scientific work. She shared the 1903 Nobel Prize in Physics with her husband Pierre Curie and with physicist Henri Becquerel. She won the 1911 Nobel Prize in Chemistry. Her achievements included the development of the theory of radioactivity (a term that she coined[4][5][6]), techniques for isolating radioactive isotopes, and the discovery of two elements, polonium and radium. Under her direction, th...
