"We are Holding our own." The last radio communication between the Fitzgerald and the Anderson was at 7:10 pm. A few minutes later, the Fitzgerald disappeared from the radar screen for the last time.

The ‘Holy Grail of shipwrecks’ is set to be recovered from the bottom of the ocean - along with its treasures which are believed to be worth up to $20bn in today’s money. The Colombian government said the San Jose, which was sunk by the British navy in 1708 off the port of Cartagena, would be recovered as a matter of urgency. The ship is thought to have sunk with a huge amount of treasure aboard, including 200 tonnes of silver, emeralds and eleven million gold coins.

There are over 6,000 shipwrecks in the Great Lakes, having caused an estimate loss of 30,000 mariners’ lives. It is estimated that there are about 550 wrecks in Lake Superior, most of which are undiscovered. At least 200 lie along Lake Superior’s Shipwreck Coast, a treacherous 80- stretch of shoreline with no safe harbor between Munising, Michigan, and Whitefish Point. The famous Edmund Fitzgerald lies just 15 miles to the northwest of Whitefish Point.

The hidden undersea Tyrannosaurus graveyards, from the surreal world of the ‘Inklings’ cartoon collection.

The "Dimitrios" shipwreck, in Glyfada beach, very close to Gytheio town (Lakonia, Peloponnese, Greece). It's been lying there for decades. Is said that the ship made smuggling of cigarettes from Turkey to Italy, when it fell in storm and was abandoned in this beach of Peloponnese.

After working on a few long exposures - I noticed how wonderful the cloud structure was unfolding in front of my eyes... using exposure compensation I lightened and mirrored the capture in camera and balanced in post.
