The Simurgh is a mythical Cat bird that was said to be so old it has seen the world destroyed three times. Its name means thirty birds and was said to have thirty diferent colours in its feathers. In the original myth the Simurgh looked after Zal, who had been abandoned at birth because of his white hair, until his father, the king, realised his mistake and went looking for him.
