False Bay from Cape Point, South Africa. (Featured ib Wild Africa.) The name "False Bay" was applied early on (at least three hundred years ago) by sailors who confused the bay with Table Bay to the north. According to Schirmer, the confusion arose because sailors returning from the east (The Dutch East Indies) initially confused Cape Point and Cape Hangklip, which are somewhat similar in form. The eastern and western shores of the bay are very rocky and even mountainous; in places large cliffs plunge into deep water. Notable peaks associated with the bay include Koeelberg (1269m / 4163 feet), which rises from the water itself forming the highest point of the Kogelberg, as well as Sommerset Sneeukop (1590m / 5217 feet) and Wemmershoek P...

Byron Bay is a coastal town located in the northeastern part of New South Wales, Australia. It is known for its beautiful beaches, surf breaks, and natural beauty.

Three Cliffs Bay is on the coast of the Gower Peninsula in South Wales. This view is from the clifftop at Shire Combe. The bay itself is made up of three beaches: Pobbles (nearest), Three Cliffs and Tor Bay. At high tide each one is separated but at low tide all are accessible from the beach. This image was captured on an afternoon in late July.

Paddy's Hole is a small harbour situated at the mouth of the River Tees. It is named Paddy's Hole because of the many Irishmen who worked on the construction of the harbours. South Gare is now a Site of Special Scientific Interest. The land is made from thousands of tons of basic slag from blast furnaces.

I captured the reference photo for the 'Largs at sunset' oil painting one evening on Largs Bay beach, Adelaide, It was getting dark and the sea looked nearly white from the contrast with the sandy beach. The jetty leads out to the oceans horizon and golden sunset.
