Strategic Simulations Tapestries
Description: This design pays tribute to the golden age of classic computer gaming with the iconic angular red-and-cream SSI logo, recreated in a stylish distressed vintage finish. “Strategic Simulations – SSI 1979 Retro Logo” captures the early era of strategy games, CRPG history, and old-school software branding with bold geometric lettering and a rugged, time-worn texture. The artwork evokes memories of boxed PC titles, floppy-disk labels, and the pioneering days of digital role-playing and tactical adventures. Perfect for fans of retro gaming, computer history, dungeon crawlers, and nostalgic tech aesthetics, this design looks amazing on shirts, hoodies, posters, and accessories—bringing back the unmistakable identity of a legendary 1979 game studio
Description: After finding that computer game publishers were not interested in his first game, war game enthusiast Joel Billings launched his own company to publish and distribute his computer titles in 1979. Calling his new venture Strategic Simulations, Inc. (SSI), it didn't take long before Billings' company was the dominant force in computer war games. Throughout the '80s and into the early 1990s, SSI was holding its own against the publishers that once turned down Billings' games. The mid-'80s saw SSI began licensing properties to be used as new computer war game titles. SSI was acquired in 1994, spent time as part of a toy company, and finally became part of a larger game house that ended up by retiring the brand name a few years later.
