Superb Blue Wren Tapestries

Description: A painting with acrylic ink of a male superb fairy wren

Description: Little King of the Fairies - Blue Wren by Nadya Neklioudova. I just can't stop painting wrens!! This gorgeous male Superb Fairy-Wren (otherwise known as Blue Fairy Wren) posed for me for a perfect photo opportunity before fluttering off, and I couldn't resist painting him. To get all the fine details I used watercolour pencils, gouache and ink pen. He is resplendent in his detailed blue breeding plumage, pausing for a moment on an abstract brushed blue line - inviting you to admire him.

Description: A beautiful Australian Blue Wren is the central image in this pretty mandala. I painted the original of this one in gouache (opaque watercolour) on paper, then edited it digitally.
