The company headquarters is in Keene, New Hampshire. As of 2024, 503 independently owned Piggly Wiggly stores currently operate across 18 states, primarily in smaller cities and towns.

This design features A&P's 1976 rebrand logo which featured a new sunrise effect with a set of colored bands leading up to an offset A&P mark in a new, more modern typeface - the first major update since 1859.
Description: Alpha Beta was a chain of supermarkets in the Southwestern U.S. that operated from 1917 to 1995. Before Alpha Beta was the name of a store, it was the name of a concept used in grocery stores founded by Albert and Hugh Gerrard. It referred to organizing groceries in the store in alphabetical order. The Gerrards applied this idea to their Triangle Grocerteria in 1915 and continued it in Alpha Beta stores well into the future. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, the television spokesman for the Alpha Beta used various slogans such as "You Can't Lose" and "The Savings Don't Stop," though every spot ended with him saying "tell a friend." This slogan was also promoted on giveaways like t-shirts and mugs, as well as balloons and shopping bags.

Armed with his chainsaw hand and boomstick, Ash finds himself caught in the middle of a war between rival factions and the forces of darkness, forcing him to use his wit and weapons to fight and survive. The Japanese release of Army of Darkness was released under the name "Captain Supermarket," the title being taken from Ash's chosen vocation as a clerk at S-Mart. I guess some things just don't translate correctly, but whatever the case, we're glad this one went down the way it did, as it's totally groovy.

At the time of its founding, grocery stores did not allow customers to gather their goods. Instead, a customer would give a list of items to a clerk, who would then collect them throughout the store.
