Surfer Beach Tapestries

Description: Surfer bars are great, but surfer dive bars are better, and once such example is the aptly named Surf Bar in Folly Beach, South Carolina. This laid back watering hole with beachy decor, patio seating, pub grub and a consistent calendar of live music was a Folly Beach favorite for almost 15 years before closing their doors and leaving locals and tourists alike with a hole in their heart.
Description: Surfing is a surface water sport in which an individual, a surfer (or two in tandem surfing), uses a board to ride on the forward section, or face, of a moving wave of water, which usually carries the surfer towards the shore. Waves suitable for surfing are primarily found on ocean shores, but can also be found in standing waves in the open ocean, in lakes, in rivers in the form of a tidal bore, or in wave pools. The term surfing refers to a person riding a wave using a board, regardless of the stance. There are several types of boards. The Moche of Peru would often surf on reed craft, while the native peoples of the Pacific surfed waves on alaia, paipo, and other such water craft.
Description: Baywatch debuted in 1989, but was cancelled after only one season, when it placed 73rd out of 103 shows in the seasonal ratings. Feeling the series still had potential, The Hoff, one of the principal actors, along with creators and executive producers, revived it for the first-run syndication market in 1991. The series went on to be hugely successful, especially internationally. The show was an action drama about lifeguards who patrol the beaches of Los Angeles County, California, and focused on both professional and personal challenges faced by the characters, portrayed by a large rotating ensemble cast.
Description: The Wedge is located at the intersection of the beach and the man-made jetty that forms the breakwater on the western side of Newport harbor entrance. When a south or south/southwest swell is running in the right size and direction, the Wedge can produce waves up to 30 feet (9.1 m) high.
