Swedish Sign Tapestries
Description: The Swedish phrase "ett fritt Palestina," meaning "a free Palestine" in Swedish, the stated mission and rallying phrase used by Palestinagrupperna, a national solidarity organization, and echoed in a real Swedish parliamentary motion and at demonstrations across Malmö, Stockholm, Göteborg, and beyond.
Description: A bold vintage-inspired illustration celebrating surströmming, the famously pungent Swedish fermented herring. The design features a classic fish can surrounded by distressed typography, cream and blue tones, red accents, and retro advertising details. Phrases like ultimate flavor, 100% pungent, and stink add playful culinary humor. With its weathered sign aesthetic and Scandinavian food theme, this artwork captures the distinctive character of fermented fish culture and Swedish cuisine.
