The Grange Tapestries

Rolling farmland to the North of Linlithgow, West Lothian, Scotland, taken from the banks of the Union Canal, a little bit East from the Railway Station. The tower of the Grange (a large Country House) can be seen in the centre of the shot. Incidently, Linlithgow is the town where I was born. I lived there until I married. Took this photo a couple of weeks ago at The Grange Reserve in Clayton South, Victoria, Australia. None of my favourite reference books had it listed, so started to think it might be a weed - til I looked up Geranium in Flora Of Melbourne. There it was - Geranium Solanderi, or Austral Cranes Bill. The leaves look like Geranium, but the flowers are much smaller than the garden variety - very pretty though!

Paperbark trees are in flower everywhere now, but this Scented Paperbark (Melaleuca Squarrosa) stood out with its creamy yellow flowers. The Grange Reserve, Clayton South, Victoria, Australia.
