The High Priestess Tapestries
Description: The High Priestess is a card that is associated with intuition and the subconscious in its upright position. When reversed, it represents a lack of inner voice and repressed feelings. For this card, we decided to portray Medusa as the titular character. Here, Medusa sits upon a throne of her enemies who were turned to stone. These statues act as the “veil” that conceals what lies beyond. Her feminine beauty intertwined with her monstrous intensity represent her intuition, fertility, and divine femininity. Behind her throne on either side, we see two pillars. They are marked with the Greek letters “Π” “ά.” These are the first letters in the Greek spelling of Persephone and Hades. Hades is the God of the Dead, while Persephone is the Godde...

Description: The High Pirestess Card, in A High Fidelity, High Resolution rendering of the traditional Rider-Waite Style. The High Priestess sits in front of a thin veil decorated with pomegranates. The veil represents the separate conscious and subconscious realms, the seen and the unseen, and serves to keep casual onlookers out. Only the initiated may enter. The pomegranates on the veil are a symbol of abundance, fertility and the divine feminine, and are sacred to Persephone who ate a pomegranate seed in the underworld and was forced to return every year. On either side of the High Priestess stand two pillars, marking the entrance to this sacred, mystical temple (also associated with the Temple of Solomon). One pillar is black with the lette...
Description: The Goddess of the Hunt and the Moon, Diana, is featured in this rendition of the Major Arcana tarot card. She leaps in the air, in pursuit of the hunt with her stag by her side. Diana lets her arrow fly, as she protects this forest from casual onlookers. Diana's bow is in the shape of a crescent moon. This symbolizes her connection to the stars and all things celestial. Two cypress tress flank the goddess. One vivacious while the other withers. A layer of fog and forest of trees conceals what lies beyond.
