Vintage illustration classic children's fairy tale story by Hans Christian Andersen, Thumbelina. The Fairy Princess Thumbelina and her Prince are getting married in the forest surrounded by friends and fairies. Thumbelina receives a pair of wings from her prince now she can fly from flower to flower with him. After their wedding the newlyweds will live happily ever after in their fantasy kingdom in the magical forest.

An A5 watercolour painting... I always loved that story of Thumbelina, the thought of being so tiny was so appealing. It's one of those childhood memories so readily remembered, Thumbelina makes me think instantly of the illustrations in the beautiful story book I had. This is my offering, the muted palette is a nod to the story being from times past.
