Description: In the early ’60s, California’s Surf scene was at its peak, and skilled fiberglass craftsmen were in high demand by new surfboard manufacturers. One such fiberglass expert was Tracy Nelson. After mastering the art of working fiberglass through surfboards, he launched a new business based on another one of his passions – motorcycles. By 1970 the custom chopper scene has become a nationwide phenomenon, so his timing couldn’t have been any better to launch Tracy’s Fiberglass Works. He started out making stylized custom tanks for bikes of all makes, but quickly went on to create full body kits that transformed any motorcycle into a custom dream machine and all for considerably less than similar bodies from steel.
