Townsville Australia Tapestries

Painted this morning (09/07/2020) original size is A3. medium is watercolour on Arches 300gsm medium press paper. This view of Mount Stuart faces towards the ocean looking over Townsville and carries Townsvilles communcation towers. The Army base is at the foothills of this mountain. Today there were storm cells growing all around Townsville, no rain though just lots of humidity. This is taken from the top of Castle Hill at around 2:00 pm. It is a compilation of 15 photos in a square grid, it was to big to fit into one photo.

The Rockpool is at the northern end of the Strand, it is a salt water pool continually pumped from Halifax Bay. This is the one time I have seen the Rockpool without swimmers or pumps operating giving a perfectly flat water reflection, as there was a performance by PolyToxic from Brisbane presenting ‘Trade Winds’, about to take place.
