Vulture Coming In For Landing by Debra Martz Turkey Vulture coming in for a landing with feet out and wings spread. Sometimes an image just calls to me to change it with some digital editing. While I liked the capture of the vulture, the winds had been high which makes the water murky and I didn't find that attractive so off to Topaz Studio I went. Chimney Topper - Black and White by Debra Martz I was just getting ready to put my gear back in the truck when I saw a Turkey Vulture circling to the west of this old abandoned house. I thought maybe I can get a neat fly by if I wait just a few minutes more. Then I noticed its circling stopped and it headed directly for the house, the chimney in fact, for a landing! Happy happy was I. I stop to photograph this house most every visit to the Salt Plains National Wildlife Refuge and get something a little different each time. I love turkey vultures. so much. this is from photos I took and sketches I did at dawn, by the railroad tracks in alsea area, they were all gathered in the trees looking a doe that had been struck (I found the doe by following their gazes for a while). 18x24" oil on canvas. unframed.
