I think Spotted Sun Orchids are one of the prettiest of our native orchids - and this is a really good specimen! Their botanical name is Thelymitra Ixioides and this one was found at Baluk Willam Reserve in Belgrave South, Victoria, Australia.

Inspired by the brittish designer William Morris, known for its floral design. But he never did designs with dogs. What are florals without the Dobermann. Beautiful on pillows or sheets

Perfect timing! I was walking up the Orchid Trail at Baluk Willam Reserve in Belgrave South, Victoria, Australia, when I came upon lots of these gorgeous Spotted Sun Orchids (Thelymitra Ixioides) in full bloom!

Trigger Plants are quite common in the woodlands of Southern Australia. This one is a Grass Trigger Plant (Stylidium Graminifolium), so called because it looks like a clump of grass until it flowers! The flowers are tiny and spread out along a tall stem so very difficult to photograph. They have a tiny trigger which flicks pollen onto any insect which comes close enough.

When I first saw these little pink orchids I thought they were just very small Pink Fingers. When I looked at the photo I could see they were much less common Black Tongue Caladenias (Caladenia Congesta)

This is Burgan, a Summer flowering shrub from the woodlands of Southern Australia. It's long stamens are quite striking. I found this glorious example in the Baluk Willam Reserve in Belgrave South, Victoria, Australia.
