Witchcraft Halloween Tapestries
Description: Alchemy encompasses several philosophical traditions spanning some four millennia and three continents. These traditions' general penchant for cryptic and symbolic language makes it hard to trace their mutual influences and "genetic" relationships. One can distinguish at least three major strands, which appear to be mostly independent, at least in their earlier stages: Chinese alchemy, centered in China and Indian alchemy, centered on the Indian subcontinent; and Western alchemy, which occurred around the Mediterranean and whose center has shifted over the millennia from Greco-Roman Egypt to the Islamic world, and finally medieval Europe.
Description: The Salem Witches were a baseball team of the New England League, a minor league in American major league baseball. The team played a total of five non-consecutive seasons using the "Witches" moniker. Salem also hosted the New England League Salem Fairies (1887) and Salem (1891–1892), as well as Salem of the New England Association (1895). Salem first had a team in the 1884 Massachusetts State Association
Description: Witch Hazel is a fairy tale witch antagonist with green skin, a round figure, bulbous facial features, and a single tooth who was a recurring character in several Golden Age animated cartoons. Her name is a pun on the witch-hazel plant and folk remedies based on it, and as we learn in an early appearance, is a member in good standing of the Malevolent Order of Witches.
Description: As an artist who likes to draw and paint spooky things, I've mostly stayed away from depicting other people's characters. Then in the summer of 2015 I had this idea to do a series of portraits of characters that I like from movies and books centered around Halloween, and by mid-October I had completed 5. Fast forward to the Spring of 2017 and we have Series 2, featuring all female characters. This is Witch Hazel from Disney's animated cult classic short "Trick or Treat", and Witch Hazel from multiple classic Bugs Bunny cartoons. Which Hazel is your favorite?
