Xanadu Tapestries
Description: A sleek retro futuristic “XANADU” logo inspired by classic 1980s cinema aesthetics. The bold angular lettering features a chrome like metallic finish with vibrant neon gradients of electric blue, magenta and purple. Subtle glow effects and glossy highlights add depth and motion, creating a modernized throwback look designed to pop dramatically on a black T-Shirt.
Description: Xanadu is a 1980 American musical and fantasy film written by Richard Christian Danus and Marc Reid Rubel and directed by Robert Greenwald. The title is a reference to the nightclub in the film, which takes its name from Xanadu, the summer capital of Kublai Khan's Yuan Dynasty in China. This city appears in Kubla Khan by Samuel Taylor Coleridge, a poem that is quoted in the film. The film is a remake of the film Down to Earth (1947), the sequel to Here Comes Mr. Jordan (1941). Xanadu stars Olivia Newton-John, Gene Kelly (in his final film role) and Michael Beck, and features music by Newton-John, Electric Light Orchestra, Cliff Richard and The Tubes. The film also features animation by Don Bluth.
Description: Xanadu Records was a jazz record label founded in 1975 by Don Schlitten. It was most active during the 1970s and 1980s and stopped recording in the 1990s. The catalogue was bought by emusic in 1999, but no new music was produced. In 2007, the catalogue was bought by The Orchard, which entered an agreement in 2015 with Elemental Music to reissue some of the catalog as the Xanadu Master Edition Series. The partnership planned to include albums by Kenny Barron, Bob Berg, Al Cohn, Sonny Criss, Joe Farrell, Barry Harris, Dexter Gordon, Albert Heath, Jimmy Heath, Duke Jordan, Charles McPherson, and Cecil Payne.
