The sandy bay at Cullercoats in the North East of England is enclosed by two small piers and was once a thriving fishing village in the early 1800s and is now home to the Dove Marine Laboratory and an RNLI Lifeboat station. This image has been given a 'peeling paint' filter and was taken from the North end of the bay just as the sun was rising above the horizon on a cold November morning. The pier at the mouth of the River Tyne can just be seen on the horizon.
