In 2014, this painting was among one of the winners of a BBC America Fanart contest. It was a difficult contest, as the contest required fan art for the 12th Doctor before any episodes had aired. The painting was on display at the Doctor Who booth at the San Diego Comic-Con and the Doctor Who World Tour premier of Series 8. Two weeks after I won this contest, a trailer for Series 8 was released that focused on Clara’s reflection in the 12th Doctor’s eye. I’m not saying I inspired the trailer, but the reps at BBC America were certianly impressed with the apparent clairvoyance. It was a proud moment. The original oil painting is on a 36" by 24" canvas.
