Elisabetta Sirani Pillow

This is the self-portrait of Elisabetta Sirani (born 1638), titled "Allegory of Painting." Although she died at the young age of 27, Sirani created over 200 paintings in her lifetime, combining dramatic dark backdrops with sharp, vibrant colors and depictions of powerful heroines. She also started an academy for other female artists. This print is provided to raise awareness of female artists in history, especially those who were considered pioneering for their time. Sirani's works are considered under the public domain, given she lived in the 17th century.
