This week my focus was on researching universal design principles and in promoting it for the new Passmore and Chestnut streets development. I went to my neighborhood meeting with the developer, the local municipal and provincial representatives, a representative from the Prince Edward Island Council of people with disabilities and other residents from the neighborhood. I don't know if I inspired anyone but I was there and I added it to the wish list. By developing with universal design, the environment created is friendly to all people regardless of their age, ability, and social standing.
