Palace of Justice clock. This clock is situated on the north-east corner of the exterior of La Conciergerie (part of the Palais de Justice), on the Boulevard du Palais, on the Ile de la Cite, the River Seine, Paris, France. The clock, originally installed in 1370, has been restored several times. In 1585, two sculptures by Germain Pilon were added to represent Justice (right) and Law (left). Another restoration in 1849 replaced the timekeeping mechanism. The Latin inscriptions refer to the triple crown of Henry III of France (top) and timekeeping and the administration of justice and laws (bottom). Photographed after the re-gilding in the most recent restoration in 2012.
