19th Century Pillows

Drawing inspiration from 19th-century natural history illustrations, this design brings out the anaconda's patterned scales, muscular form, and the intricate texture of its arboreal perch in exquisite detail.

Photo from 1800s of a woman making tapered candlesticks at home by dipping wicks into some sort of fat or tallow. Note the spinning wheel in the background. Expect some charming graininess in the finished print.

Timber logging. Loggers with a pile of felled and sawn logs piled high on a sledge for hauling over snow by horses. This photograph, dating from between 1880 and 1899, is from the archives of the company later called the Detroit Publishing Company, which specialised in photographs and postcards depicting landscapes and scenes in North America.

The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, which is sometimes nicknamed “il salotto di Milano” (Milan's drawing room), is an elegant nineteenth-century shopping arcade. It houses some of the most luxurious boutiques in Milan.

The Edo style was very unique to that period. The textiles were at there most magnificent and the metal smithing was at its absolute best... One of Japans great renaissance periods. This design comes from an antique firemans jacket.

Natural gas well, 19th-century artwork. Drilling of a natural gas well in Kansas, USA. Commercial drilling for oil and natural gas in Kansas began in 1892. Natural gas is a fossil fuel obtained from underground deposits, often those where oil is also found. Natural gas (mostly methane) is then distributed through pipelines to industries and homes. Artwork from the 17th volume (first period of 1896) of the French popular science weekly 'La Science Illustree'.

Forth Bridge. 19th-century illustration of the Forth Bridge spanning 2528 metres across the estuary of the River Forth at Queensferry, Scotland. This rail bridge has a cantilever design, the steel arches allowing sailing ships to pass beneath it. The bridge was designed by Scottish engineer Sir William Arrol, and was opened in 1890. Artwork from 'Chemins de Fer, Automobiles' (1911) by French civil engineer Max de Nansouty (1854-1913), part of the 'Les merveilles de la science' series of 1867-1891 by Louis Figuier.
