Description: The 41st Infantry Division was composed of National Guard units from Idaho, Montana, Oregon, North Dakota and Washington that saw active service in World War I and World War II. It was one of the first to engage in offensive ground combat operations during the last months of 1942. In 1965 it was reorganized as the 41st Infantry Brigade. The brigade has seen combat in the Iraq War in 2003.
Description: The 37th IBCT deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) 2007–2008 included over 2,528 soldiers from Ohio and Michigan. This was at that time the largest deployment since World War II of one single unit from both states. The brigade was under the command of Colonel Richard T. Curry and conducted operations throughout Iraq and Kuwait. Missions included: SECFOR and port security operations, convoy security and escort, provincial reconstruction team security, Ramadi Provincial Government Center security, base camp force protection and command and control, Kabarri Crossing security, combat patrols, QRF (quick reaction force), ARF (area reaction force) and training of host nation military forces.

Description: The 50th Infantry Brigade Combat Team ("Jersey Blues") was an infantry brigade combat team of the United States Army National Guard of New Jersey. It was headquartered at the Lawrenceville Armory. The brigade's lineage can be traced back to several different units starting with the 50th Armored Division. The 50th Armored Brigade existed up until 2007–2008 when the brigade was upgraded and converted to a brigade combat team under the Army's new modularity program. The force structure of the Brigade was changed in 2008 when the conversion to the 50th IBCT occurred. The 50th IBCT has been deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan for periods of up to a 1 year.

Description: In 1990, 1st Brigade again deployed with the Big Red One to Southwest Asia in support of Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. Leading the breach of the Iraqi defenses on February 24, 1991, the Brigade actively fought and destroyed the enemy in the three campaigns involving the defense of Saudi Arabia and the Liberation of Kuwait. On 23 July 2003, 1st Brigade was notified of their deployment to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. The brigade was initially attached to the 82nd Airborne Division, and occupied Area of Operations (AO) Topeka. On 20 March 2004, 1st Brigade was attached to the 1st Marine Division to continue its offensive operations in AO Topeka.
