It was around this time that several manufacturers saw that an affordably priced custom wheel was something that the hot rod and custom world desperately needed. Gardenia, California's Astro Custom Wheels was one of the many builders who threw their hat into the ring, making wheels that were equal parts show and go, so you could cruise the boulevard on Friday night, but tear up the quarter mile on Saturday morning.
