Description: Faction insignia were used to differentiate heroes and villains in several 1980s Hasbro toylines, including G.I. Joe and Visionaries, but the Transformers toys were the first to make heavy use of the idea on the toys themselves. The original Autobot and Decepticon insignias, supposedly designed by Wayne Molinare, were seemingly based on toys from the first year of the original Transformers toyline; the Autobot symbol is a heavily stylized and simplified version of the face of Prowl, while the Decepticon insignia is drawn from that of Soundwave.
Description: The Autobots are one of the primary factions in the Transformers mythos. They usually find themselves defending both their own race and other species against the Decepticons and upholding justice and freedom throughout the galaxy. They are considered "the good guys" in most, but not in all Transformers stories.
Description: Tribute: Transformers - Megatron Megatron is a fictional character from the Transformers franchise, created by Hasbro, and based on a toy design by Takara. He is a sentient robotic lifeform from the planet Cybertron. He is also the Supreme leader of the villainous faction (primarily the Decepticons) and primary antagonist in most works of Transformers fiction. He has the ability to transform between his robot shape and various weapons or vehicles, depending on which "universe" he is seen in. Within the fiction, he is often said to have named himself after legendary the Megatronus Prime, and similarly inspired the name of a later villainous character.
