Description: Established in 2004, Branagan's Irish Pub was located at 213 N. Harbor Blvd. in Fullerton, California. Offering the perfect mix of American tavern favorites and traditional Irish pub fare, Branagan's was a great place to grab a hot meal. Of course, being a pub, they also had an impressive number of beers on tap, so a lot of folks just went there to get loaded.
Description: William J. Lemp of St. Louis created Falstaff in 1903. When Prohibition forced the closure of the Lemp brewery, local brewer Joseph Griesedieck purchased the Falstaff name in 1920 and changed his company’s name to Falstaff Corp., eventually to be renamed Falstaff Brewing. Post prohibition, Falstaff would become the country’s third-largest brewer from 1957 to 1960, with its production peaking at 7 million barrels in 1966. The ’70s introduced a set of mascots – Fannie and Fearless. Existing in cartoon form, the duo were pictured having assorted adventures from skydiving and motorcycling to waterskiing and bear hunting, all of which included their favorite beer, Falstaff.
Description: German immigrant Gottlieb Gluek used the brewing methods of his home country in the brewery he established along the northern reaches of the Mississippi River in 1857. The business preceded the establishment of the state of Minnesota and the city of Minneapolis. The next year, Gluek produced 3,996 barrels of beer. A March 1880 fire destroyed the brewery. No lives were lost directly but the founder died the following October at the age of 52, taxed by the loss and the effort to rebuild. Only partially covered by insurance, the Gluek family lost $20,000 and used their funds to rebuild a larger, more modern facility and continue the operation.
