What I found was this massive, monolithic rock, THE Lone Rock, dominating the view of this part of Lake Powell. We discovered this free-standing sandstone rock is the namesake of one of the most popular beaches in Glen Canyon as it is one of the few spots that you can drive to the water's edge and primitive camp on the shoreline.
