Description: This is a photo of bees on flowers I took at the at the Bayard Cuttting Arboritum in Great River, Long Island, NY. I took this picture with my Apple iPhone. To collect nectar, bees use a long, tube-shaped tongue called a proboscis to extract it from the flowers. The nectar provides nutrients for energy and the bees convert it into honey while also supporting pollination.
