Well, here is my latest offering of watercolour cats. This is painted in watercolour and Artliner pen. This particular artliner isn't waterproof, so there was some bleed, when I added the watercolour, but I didn't mind. Pen can be added after the watercolour, of course, or waterproof ink can be used, but I love to take a few risks when I do stuff like this, and quite like the effect, of the blurring of lines in an unpredictable way. Just a little fun watercolour cat painting, which was meant to be a colour tester, but turned into a little cat picture. It's only A5 size.

This watercolour paintings was one I had for a while. I wasn't sure it was finished , but at the same time I loved it's simplicity. It has recently been sold on Bluethumb, my online gallery where I sell my original work. This painting symbolises freedom, which is something most of us long for, but haven't been alble to take for granted since the recent pandemic. I think birds are symbolic of freedom. Freedom of expression is also important to me as an artist.

Acrylic with Ink on canvas. 100 cm x 75 cm . This painting owes it's beginnings to the inspiration found on a wonderful TV show, Colour in your life. One of the featured artists, Tracey Creighton, demonstrated how she she uses inks and plastic wrap to create a textured background. The beauty of this techniques is that it is fast and easy, and the resulting background can be beautiful. It was a bit daunting to paint over top of this lovely background, and I had to be careful not to lose all of the lovely pattern and texture, as I often get carried away when I paint, and most of my larger paintings only start to happen after many layers of paint.
