Cool Skulls Pillows
Description: For people that love gothic dark and lady skull. This illustration is La Catrina who is a symbol of the Mexican Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos) and is usually portrayed as a skeleton or skull. She is often referred to as "Lady Skull" and is a popular motif in Mexican art. Catrinas are often seen as a representation of death and are often used to decorate graves and altars during the Day of the Dead.
Description: I started this mini-series back in 2016 and, honestly, didn't know what the end result would be. At the time, I was just cranking them because they were fun to do, and I completed one within a few hours. The majority of the Skulls and Buddhas series are either 4x6 or 5x7 inches. It always seemed to me that the symbolism of skulls and the Buddha (in a meditative pose) is similar. In the practice of sitting meditation, we confront the inescapable reality of impermanence, and the skull often symbolizes mortality. The simple fact that we will have to face our own last breath.
