Description: Lee Triemert opened Lee's Liquor Lounge in Minneapolis in the late '50s, and ran it with his wife until he passed away in '76. Lou Sirian bought the bar in '77, but continued to call it Lee's, because Lou is the kind of guy who likes to keep things the way they are. That model seemed to work for Lou, as Lee's remained a mainstay of the city’s historically working-class North Loop neighborhood for decades. Housed in a 125-year-old former warehouse, Lee's was the go-to watering hole for blue collar employees for generations, but as the factories left, so did many of the customers. Lou brought in live music in the mid '80s, and this is when Lee's got its second wind as a music venue, with sort of a honky tonk dive bar vibe.

Operating from 1971 to 1988, it was a gritty staple of the historic Block E district known for its neon blue whale sign, urban legends, and colorful, rough-around-the-edges atmosphere.

We provide swimmers and divers the opportunity to represent their school and community, and to grow as young men and women while competing on an athletic team. Athletes need the following items: suit, towel, goggles, snorkel, and water bottle. Athletes will purchase their own competition suit prior to or during the beginning of the season. Practices and meets are required. Attendance is mandatory - including during winter break and other holidays during the season. Swimming pre-requisite: Ability to swim unaided and to complete rudimentary sets.

It was the spot where one might stumble into an underage Lindsey Lohan trying in vain to get served, or clamor with buddies around a crowded table full of dry ice fog belching Comsos, or where one could inevitably wander into the wrong side of the open air semi-unisex bathroom.

Description: The Red Dragon Restaurant and Lounge opened its doors in 1976 at 2116 Lyndale Avenue South in Minneapolis' Wedge Neighborhood, and it stayed right there for over four decades with changing a thing. With a full kitchen offering a comprehensive menu of authentic Cantonese and Szechuan dishes, the Red Dragon was a great place to grab a bite, but it wasn't exactly the food that pulled people in - it was the stiff drinks. Wondrous Punch was their signature cocktail that was a mix of four different rums, grenadine, and their house juice mix that consisted of sweet & sour with pineapple and orange juices. This cocktail wasn't just high octane, it was big, and went down smooth, allowing it to sneak up on amateurs.
