Description: Jets to Brazil was an American indie rock band from Brooklyn, New York that formed in 1997 and were active until 2003. Made up of members of Jawbreaker, Texas is the Reason, and Handsome, JTB churned out three amazing albums during their relatively short existence, proven by how well they still hold up today. Weaving punk rock bravado, pop consciousness, post-modern style, and undeniable poetic flair the band's indie rock credentials were beyond reproach, and their music was often hard to classify.
Description: Rites of Spring was an American punk rock band from Washington, D.C., formed in late 1983. Along with Embrace, and Beefeater, they were one of the mainstay acts of the 1985 Revolution Summer movement which took place within the Washington, D.C. hardcore punk scene. Musically, Rites of Spring increased the frenetic violence and visceral passion of hardcore punk while simultaneously experimenting with its compositional rules. Lyrically, they also shifted hardcore into intensely personal realms and, in doing so, are often considered the first emo band, though the band always rejected the label. This iconic design comes from the band's only studio album, a self-titled effort from 1985.
