Description: The Motocross des Nations is an annual motocross race held since 1947. Great Britain, Belgium, and Sweden dominated the racing series in the early days, but just like the "Miracle on Ice" shocked the hockey world in 1980, the U.S. team turned motocross upside down at the 1981 des Nations event. The U.S. had never won or even come close to winning, and with such a bad record, assembling riders for a team was tough to say the least. It was so tough, that the U.S. didn't even send teams in '79 and '80. 1981 was a different story, as America showed up, and when the flag dropped, Team U.S.A. shocked the racing world as they won Trophée des Nations. The 1981 event was the start of a winning streak at des Nations that lasted until 1994.
Description: Back in the mid '60s, some enterprising folks got together and convinced the small farm community of Lake Elsinore, California to host a dirt bike race through town and around the dusty hills surrounding it. Some say it was meant to be the successor to the legendary Catalina Grand Prix, which ran from 1951-58 on the island off the coast until the logistics and its own success killed it. The Elsinore races were also killed by their own success, and the crowds of rowdy bikers who attended well into the late 1970s. 1972 was the fifth annual Elsinore Grand Prix, and this one replicates the official design that was used to mark the event by way of posters and t-shirts.

Description: Released in 1986, Enduro Racer is a fast-paced arcade motocross game that helped define off-road racing games of the era. Players race a dirt bike through rugged outdoor courses filled with hills, jumps, and tight turns, battling both the clock and rival riders. The game stood out for its sense of speed, smooth sprite scaling, and pseudo-3D perspective, which created a thrilling illusion of depth and motion. It was available in two arcade cabinet versions: a stand-up cabinet with handlebars and a full-sized ride on dirt bike cabinet. It is often seen as a dirt racing version of Hang-On, as it uses a similar engine and PCB. With catchy music, responsive controls, and adrenaline-driven game play, Enduro Racer became a hot ticket in arcades.

Description: Hodaka introduced the Wombat in 1972, then later introduced the racing model, the Combat Wombat, in 1973. The Hodaka Combat Wombat became a tough competitor in it's day, giving the increasing number of Japanese bikes a run for their money in the 125cc class. Powered by a 125cc two-stroke engine that wound up to 8,400 rpm, the Combat Wombat also featured a five-speed transmission and a left side shifter. This nimble little motocrosser weighed around 192 pounds with a wheelbase of 53 inches. At this time in the motocross bike market, things were developing quickly and all of the manufacturers were releasing “new and improved” bikes each year, so Hodaka had to stay on that same path and released the Super Combat in '74.
