The Step Fountain in Morris Arboretum was built in 1916. These three sculptures of lion heads are the source of the water for the fountain.

The fountain at Metropolitan Oval is an impressive sight, both during the day and at night. Residents can be found relaxing on benches enjoying the air during nice weather. Available from postcard to poster-sized.

Fountain at Askam: Commemorative fountain to Queen Victorias Diamond Jubilee in 1897. located just over the road from the railway station.

The Fontana di Trevi or Trevi Fountain is the most famous and arguably the most beautiful fountain in all of Rome, Italy. This impressive monument dominates the small Trevi square located in the Quirinale District. Taming of the waters is the theme of the gigantic scheme that tumbles forward, mixing water and rockwork, and filling the small square. Tritons guide Neptune’s shell chariot, taming seahorses (hippocamps). In the center (shown in this shot) is superimposed a robustly modelled triumphal arch. The center niche, or exedra, framing Neptune has free-standing columns for maximal light-and-shade. This is the site of the former Saturnino Lora Civil Hospital, stormed by Abel Santamaría and 60 others on that fateful July day (they were later tortured and killed). On October 16, 1953, Fidel Castro was tried in the Escuela de Enfermeras for leading the Moncada attack. It was here that he made his famous History will Absolve Me speech. The park contains a giant Cubist fountain, engraved with the countenances of Abel Santamaría and José Martí, which gushes out a veritable Niagara Falls of water.

While visiting Copenhagen a few years ago, I encountered this magnificent statue of the Norse goddess Gefion, depicting her ploughing through the sea lead by a team of oxen. Of course, a statue is just a statue, but when set against that incredibly powerful sky behind.

The gem of Forsyth Park, Savannah, Georgia. The Historic Fountain is enjoyed by hundreds of people every day and is surrounded by large oaks, historic monuments, and walking paths.

This image depicts the fountain on the wonderful square in Evora, Portugal, I was there on an extraordinarily clear day to enjoy the history and beauty of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Evora has a history that goes back thousands of years, including periods of occupation by the Romans and the Moors.
