Hammerhead sharks live in temperate and tropical waters of the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian oceans. Most adults lead solitary lives, but can sometimes be seen in pairs. However, in some parts of the world, including Darwin Island in the northern Galapagos, several hundred hammerheads band together to form large baby nurseries and get ready to migrate toward the poles for the summer.
